Sports in Phoenix: another great reason to purchase real estate in Scottsdale
If you’re a sports fan, you’ll love Phoenix! From major league baseball to NBA and WNBA basketball, from NHL hockey to NFL football, you’ll find lots of great teams to cheer for from your luxury Scottsdale home.
It’s no secret (to home owners in Scottsdale, anyway) that Phoenix is home to the 2001 World Series champs, the Arizona Diamondbacks. But we’re also host to many other great teams, including:
Phoenix Suns
This ever-popular NBA team always gets the fans going. Now, nobody’s suggesting that you’d buy a luxury home in Scottsdale just to have easy access to Phoenix Suns home games. But it is a nice little bonus to owning real estate in the Phoenix area. (And don’t forget to cheer: “Beat L.A., Beat L.A!”)
Arizona Cardinals
Did you know that the Cardinals are the oldest continuously-run franchise in the NFL? Sure it’s hard to leave your Scottsdale home, but do come and cheer them on!
Phoenix Coyotes
Hockey in the desert! One of Phoenix’s younger teams, the Coyotes are now coached by “The Great One” himself, Scottsdale resident Wayne Gretzky. So you can expect wonderful things to happen this season. Come howl with the Coyotes. From Paradise Valley to paradise on ice, another great reason to shop for real estate in Phoenix.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Okay, so we’ve already mentioned the Diamondbacks. But did we mention that they were the 2001 World Series Champions? (Okay, perhaps we did. But it’s worth repeating…) Come check out a game, live at Bank One Ballpark in downtown Phoenix.
College Football
There’s something special about college football. And once you’ve moved into your new home in Arizona, you’ll have two great teams to cheer for. There’s the Arizona State University Sun Devils, and the University of Arizona Wildcats.
Arizona Sting
Looking for something a little different? Take in an Arizona Sting home game, and experience the fast-moving game of professional lacrosse.
Outdoor Sports in Phoenix
Arizona is truly a paradise for the active man or woman. Here are just a few of the great sporting opportunities open to those lucky enough to own real estate in Scottsdale:
Tennis
How could tennis fail to be a popular sport in an area with over 300 days of sunshine per year? If you’ve recently purchased a luxury home in Scottsdale, maybe it came with its own tennis court. But even if not, you’ll find plenty of public courses throughout Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and other parts of Phoenix.
Cycling
Where better to cycle than Arizona? Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a weekend tourer, you’ll find endless opportunities to hit the trails in the Valley of the Sun.
Golf
With over 300 golf courses to choose from, Arizona is truly a golfer’s paradise. The Phoenix area alone boasts over 100 fabulous courses, all within easy access of your new Scottsdale home.
Hiking
Arizona is the Grand Canyon state. Is it really necessary to say any more? As hard as it may be to leave the air conditioned bliss of your luxury Scottsdale home, you owe it to yourself to lace up the hiking boots now and then, and enjoy the world-class hiking in the Phoenix area.
Swimming
Living in the desert, it’s great to cool off in water now and then. Many luxury Scottsdale homes come with a swimming pool, but there are also many public pools in the Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and elsewhere in the Valley of the Sun. For the more adventurous, you can even tube down one of the cool local rivers.
